I am very new to OpenElec and am using the OpenELEC_PVR-ION.x86_64-devel-20120125162000-r9647 build together with my Sundtek MediaPro TV DVB-CT and TVHeadend client and server. So far everything works more or less perfect. There are only a few issues that I wanted to ask help for in this forum. To separate the individual issues, I opened one topic for each of it...

The question in this topic is: How can I switch to German Keyboard Layout? Even though I configured XBMC to German location (time, character set, etc.), I still have the English (US) Keyboard Layout, i.e. there is no "ö, ä, ü" and the special characters are not where I expect them to be.

Can anyone help me with that simple problem?

Keyboard layout can be configured in the OpenELEC configuration addon. I never tried anything but US English myself, but that's where it's set

Thanks a lot for your answer. I found the setting which I was not aware of before. Unfortunately, it does not work. It set both layouts, i.e. "layout" and "layout #2" to "de", but even after a reboot, my keyboard layout is still English. Could you maybe try to set it to "de" and check if you have the "ö" instead of the ":" on your English keyboard?

Eden I am running well so far, but unfortunately I do not have the German keyboard layout. In OpenElec OS Settings are on the DE keyboard layout. How do I get the German layout with äöü
