I've tested dropbox https urls on my ION machine and didn't have any ssl problems, so could it be Xtreamer specific? Can you wget from this url?

You could try uninstalling and installing 1.04. I added your dropbox url to the settings, and a subdirectory option which you could use.

If you still have a problem with 1.0.4 turn on the debug option in the addon settings then pastebin the full xbmc.log.

I'm thinking I need to use labels for the urls in the settings rather than the actual urls themselves, dropbox urls are hard to identify/remember!
Thanks, I'll try later when back home and let you know. I reckon may have typed my dropbox url badly.
Is a trailing slash mandatory?

You don't need a trailing slash but it won't matter if there is one.

Hi leopold

This looks great, good work, will give it a go this weekend and send feedback.

B.

Thanks. I'll just say that if you're looking for a way to have the system automatically update to the latest build, without any manual intervention, then this addon will not currently do that.

...

And nor should it ever. Development builds are for developers and testers and the uber keen. None of which should be updating without a plan of attack or reason.

If we wanted development builds to auto update we would just tell OE to do it the official way :)

Yes I agree, it would be pretty pointless to develop an addon to do auto updates as OpenELEC already has a really good auto update mechanism.

There should still be progress bars. Did you have the keep tar files option selected? If so then maybe you selected a build that was already downloaded? Just extracting the files might've been too quick to see a progress bar.

Worked perfectly for me using the default official repository. Thanks, this will be useful.

I just checked this. It seems that with a recent build the progress bar shows for the download but not for the decompression or extraction. I tried with an older build and the addon worked as it should. I'll investigate and submit a bug report for XBMC.

Hi there,

I also noticed no progress bar or continuation to decompression after the download, but by going to the addon once more and choosing the same update file and saying yes to upgrade will open the decompression bar that way.

It seems it does not go to next step automatically in the newer builds.

After the decompression bar goes to 100%, no more extraction bars until it asks you to reboot...

B.

For info build r12268 --> wireless k/b stopped working... but works again with r12282

I've submitted a trac ticket for the progress dialog issue.

Until this is fixed the addon still works, but you can only see the first progress dialog. If the tar file exists you will see the extraction dialog. If not, you will only see the download dialog, but the decompression and extraction still happens in the background.

I've pushed out version 1.0.6. This will trigger an auto-update, if you have it enabled. Here's the changelog.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm a moderator over at XBMCHUB.com, I requested this to be added to their Fusion installer which is a one stop shop for addon installations like 1Channel, IceFilms, Navi-X, etc.

It will make it easier to install via Install From Zip when someone has their source added to their RPi.

I don't mind at all. Thanks for letting me know.

I've just pushed out 1.0.7. This version will check if the update files are already in place and ask if you want to reboot to install the update. I've also added an icon.
