Here are quick instructions to set your own OpenELEC splash screen without needing to rebuild anything. You just need to follow the same instructions as for the Nvidia/ATI splash screen fix :

But then once you have the /flash partition mounted read/write, just copy the PNG splash screen you want as /flash/oemsplash.png. That's it!

To copy the file there, the easiest is to fist copy it to the Storage partition somehow (the Windows sharing comes to mind), then execute something like this :

Well, it's also possible to create project/{Generic,Intel,ION,...}/splash/splash.png and get that picked up automatically by the build, which is what I was doing initially, but then while looking at the init file about NFS related stuff, I came across the support for the oemsplash.png file and thought to myself "how cooool!!!"... so... thanks for that nice little feature, and sorry for spoiling it!

I really REALLY like how modular and customizable OpenELEC is made, thanks a lot for all your hard work.
