Will this work out of the box for RPi 2?

I was about to ask the same question, and found something on the kodi.tv forum here:
forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=217063&pid=1915815#pid1915815

Leopold,
I would like like to thank you for your OpenELEC RPi Config Service (your's is the 1st repo I install)!
Will you be posting an update when script.openelec.rpi.config has been updated in your repo (here, or on forum.kodi.tv)?

Thanks.
Thanks for the kind words!

Yes as mentioned on the Kodi forum I have made changes but I don't have a Pi 2 so I can't test them properly. I would like to wait until at least one person has tested script.openelec.rpi.config-0.19.0.zip before I push it to my repo. It should set gpu_mem_1024 and the setting "Output the maximum 1.2A from USB ports (max_usb_current)" should be visible.

Hi Leopold!

Firt of all - thanks for your great work on this. :)
I just tried your v0.19 script on my Pi 2, here is a screenshot of the misc screen:

As you can see unfortunately the memory bar is missing, as well as the USB voltage.

Also (not on the screenshot), the value presets in the overcloking tab are still equal to the Pi 1 - however I think there was no change intended yet?

I hope this helps. :)

Thanks for testing it. Can you try script.openelec.rpi.config-0.19.01.zip. If there's still a problem I'll need a debug log.

You're correct that there is no intended change to overclock presets in this version. I'll revisit that at some point.

BTW, what skin is that?

Hi,
I was going to say the same thing about 0.19.0

I tried it after I had replaced a openelec backup of a Pi 1 installation. So I tested again with removing the addon data. It started to pop-up some dialogs for rebooting with a cancel button (maybe that is normal behaviour for a first run, I am not sure), again no memory settings, nor a voltage setting. I tried again with also replacing the original openelec config.txt that came with the Pi2 build. Again a lot of pop ups before rebooting, but I pushed cancel at some point, there was actually a memory setting available, but it read 512.

Any changes made did not corrupt the installation, and it still used the 1024MB

Just tested 0.19.01, still no memory settings, but the voltage output (max_usb_current) is there...
If I cancel the reboot as a 'first run' (ie after clearing the addons previously saved data) I see a memory setting (gpu_mem_512) (but no max_usb_current), then after reboot the memory settings are gone (but there is a max_usb_current part)

regards,
Tijs

Thanks for the feedback. A debug log would really help to diagnose the problem (turn on the debug option in the addon settings.)
I fixed a couple of problems with 0.19.0 but there seems to be another issue remaining with 0.19.01.

Could you run these commands and let me know the output

vcgencmd get_mem arm
vcgencmd get_mem gpu

Hi,
OpenELEC:~ # vcgencmd get_mem arm
arm=752M
OpenELEC:~ # vcgencmd get_mem gpu
gpu=256M

And a log (rebooted openelec, opened RPI config, maybe turned max_usb_current on, exit (and cancelled reboot) )
Hope that helps, let me know what else we can test for you

edit: I didn't know I couldn't add .log files here... heres a pastebin

Strange that arm and gpu memory do not add up to 1024, I suspected that might be the problem. There's another method I can use to get the total ram size.

Sorry, no luck

This version actually throws an error on installatioin (and afterwards after a reboot). I can open it normally, but it says (gpu_mem_512), and no [max_usb_current]

btw. is [max_usb_current] an option that would also work on Pi 1 B+ models ?

According to changelog, it should, since version 0.16.0:

0.18.0
- Increased the maximum values for arm_freq, core_freq and sdram_freq.

0.17.0
- Handle gpu_mem for 256MB boards
- Fixed a bug when there is no existing config.txt

0.16.0
- Added the Model B+ setting max_usb_current to output 1.2A through the USB ports.
- Fixed the reboot countdown progress bar.

Amber, with a custom background.

There has been a lot of testing since I was online..
I guess I'll wait for the next version?

Oops, In hindsight 2am was probably too late in the day to push out a new version! It should be fixed now in script.openelec.rpi.config-0.19.03.zip

Thank you! :)

Everything seems to be working fine now, max. value of 448MB is intended?

Yes, working fine here as well !

You're awake now Leopold ;)

One more thing, could you add support for suppression of the under-voltage warning as described here: Under-voltage warnings ?

I am running the Pi from the USB on my TV, that works fine, but apparently there the current is a bit low. There is a constant coloured square in the top right of my screen (wel it fades in and out...). I won't be using max_usb_current ;-)

Cheers,
Tirges

Yes I don't know what the actual limit is for Pi 2 but I doubt anyone needs to go anywhere near that figure.
