hello,

I needed perl on my openelec install for a sorting script.
I didn't want to build a custom OE with perl because I didn't want to loose the OE updates, and have to rebuild at each update.

So I thought, well, let's get the sources, but finally ended up with ActivePerl. Install, easypeasy, no problems. Modules installs... err not so much. But after many hours breaking my head on why oh why that didn't work, I wondered... there is no `make` right? I take it so much as granted that I didn't even think that it wouldn't probably be there.

So, my question: do you know of any way to maybe cross-compile the modules, or to install build tools?

Thanks for any and all help!

I'm really amazed sometimes how some people can't see what is wrong:
RasPi:~/downloads/activeperl/ActivePerl-5.24.0.2400-x86_64-linux-glibc-2.15-300561
raspberry pi and x86_64 :unsure:
ultraman == vpeter
LAMP addon - Linux, Apache, MySQL PHP bundle
Sundtek and HDHomeRun DVB driver addons

Doh! Linux is a big mystery to me, but I should have seen that one. Although, having said that, that matches the version that was used in the post whose instructions I am follwing (adjusted for newer version)
