This thread is to provide people a place to post errors that they find on the wiki and any other suggestions about content that should be added.

There is no favicon.ico for the Wiki. I suggest using the favicon from openelec.tv/.

In the left column menu of the Wiki, there is no href for the anchor with the text "Raspberry Pi FAQ" under the FAQ menu item. It should be linking to wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Raspberry_Pi_FAQ.

There are some errors on the Wiki pages for the individual Official and Unofficial Add-Ons.
  1. The coding for the icons appears on the pages in place of the actual icon image. The anchors are wrapped in the image markup. To fix this issue, the image should be wrapped in the anchor markup.
  2. The error message Unknown extension tag "poem" appears on most pages.

Cheers,
I know about this issue. We had a test run of a wiki bot to auto make pages for us and it makes the pages that we would like, however with the current version of mediawiki we cannot install some extensions we need to view the page correctly (aka. poem). sraue will hopefully be updating to version 1.23 soon :)

At one point there was an entry in the wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/OpenELEC_FAQ page at anchor versions answering the question, "Why are there so many versions of OpenELEC?" Has that been moved or removed? I can't find it. Google can't find it.

Many pages on the main site and elsewhere have a link to that FAQ entry. Should I redirect them or eliminate those links?

The old link was http:// openelec.tv/ support/frequently-asked-questions#versions. If there is no replacement page, those links will receive a 404 error. I can hunt down references in the site contents and remove the references. I don't think there's more than a handful of them.

No idea, did this actually link to the wiki? or is it an old webpage?

I think it was part of the FAQ on the main site first and then moved to the Wiki. Of course, I may be hallucinating the whole thing.
I'll remove all the appearances of it that I can find in the content.

The links are linking to a subtopic on the wiki, when the subtopic isn't reachable you're just redirected to the top of the page - in our case just the FAQ. I mentioned that also in my small review, would m´be nice if the subtopic is readded or the links are cleaned up (is in progress if I got it right?)

Apparently, that FAQ was removed some time ago. I'll remove the defective links as I find them.

I ran a scan using my wiki bot to find dead links but it only found a couple and I fixed them already, so shouldn't be a problem with the wiki.

I think the Wiki is fine. The links to be removed are on the main site and just refer to a non-existent anchor on the Wiki site. If followed, the link dumps people into a place that doesn't provide what they're looking for. It won't return a 404 error code. It leads to the valid Wiki FAQ page.

Suggestions for improving the wiki on adding remotecontrols, this page (guide to add remote)

Important: I suggest to add at the start of commands (v5.95) at the wikipage:
systemctl stop eventlircd.service
systemctl stop kodi.service
Without these codes LIRC is not 'released' and you are not able to record any IR.

The wiki explanation works but is very basic afterwards. You cannot bind any extra or special Kodi-commands to a button of the control.
A link for a good explanation of the relation between lircd.conf, Lircmap.xml and remote.xml is this one.
If you want to use this explanation/guide you need to know where the files can be found or to be placed in OpenElec:
  • autostart.sh and lircd.conf in the share storage/configfiles
  • Lircmap.xml in storage/userdata
  • remote.xml in storage/userdata/keymaps

  • When using the 3 mentioned files you need to adjust the contents of autostart.sh (use Notepad++ i.e.) and place this file in storage/configfiles:
    killall lircd
    ir-keytable -p lirc
    lircd --device=/dev/lirc0 /storage/.config/lircd.conf
It takes time to create the lircd.conf and Lircmap.xml. But after that.... the only thing you need is to define all the commands to be executed in remote.xml which is the goal of all the efforts.

Available Kodi commands on this link, chapter 5.1 (for use in remote.xml)
Available code-names for recording "irrecord -list namespace"

    Missing link under Manual Installation.
    wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Manual_Installation#Create_the_needed_partitions

It says "refer to this thread" but there are no link to any thread.
