can i get some recommendations on a good model and brand of usb flash drive to use with openelec i stream all my stuff from my server so using a 160gb laptop drive is a bit of a waste and i could be using it for a better purpose seeing as openelec runs on a usb drive i have tried some over time but they seem to act sluggish most of the time as i don't think the read speed on them is very good

so any suggestions would be appreciated

lrusak OFFLINE Administrator Posts: 2007 Thank you received: 260 Karma: 262	just find one with a high read write speed. Even USB 3.0 (assuming your computer is able to boot from that) Or just find a 40GB SSD which will provide plenty of speed. It's not rocket science.

lrusak OFFLINE Administrator Posts: 2007 Thank you received: 260 Karma: 262	It really depends on how much media you have. I have 2000+ episodes of TV and ~800 Movies. A USB drive isn't even an option. I'd say if you need over 8GB of userdata (thumbnails, art, etc), don't use a thumbdrive. otherwise just go to the store and get a $5 thumbdrive for the meantime.
