update killed my htpc 1 year 3 weeks ago #1

Hi all

I rebooted my htpc this morning and OE started doing an update. no problems I thought, it has done that before and it will come up on its own. Well this time it did not.

it now displays an error on the screen

*** Error in prepare_sysroot: mount-common: could not mount /flash/SYSTEM ***
[ 13.915001] System halted

Am I screwed and have to start again or is there a way to recover from this?

Its a Zotac MAG box running an IOn chip. Has been working great and there were no problems with it up until the reboot.

Exactly same message.
Asrock Ion system.
Everything working perfect with 1.95.2, after auto update to 1.95.3 would not boot.
Did a clean install with 1.95.3 and seemed very buggy and the ir remote wouldn't work
so I've just taken it back to 1.95.2.
Seems like 1.95.3 has problems people...

same issue here. Xtreamer(1) build.

1.95.3 has definitely problems people...

You are unlucky guys or I'm a lucky one.
Yesterday evening, I have upgrade my HTPC (ION) to 1.95.3 without any problem.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

I also had no problem updating my Zotac ID-41 to 1.95.3
So ION should not be the trigger
