I'm trying to connect a 600Gb 2.5" drive with a USB3 enclosure, and it's not working. This is the current version on Raspberry Pi. The drive is formatted with NTFS and has been removed cleanly. It shows up fine on windows. It has a simple directory structure, basically a movie directory with movie files inside. The /dev/sda device does get created but nothing gets mounted. When I try to mount /dev/sda /media/ext -t ntfs it tells me that there is no media found.

I'm attaching both my dmesg and my messages files, but this seems to be the important part of dmesg:

The solution just occurred to me. The Raspberry PI cannot power a USB drive. Going to try it with a powered hub.

Ok now with a powered hub I get a /dev/sda and a /dev/sda1. lsusb shows the hub and the enclosure:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 001 Device 007: ID 046d:c52b Logitech, Inc. Unifying Receiver

still no mount though. And then I try to mount it, the command just hangs and I get things like this in the messages log:
any thoughts??
