TOPIC: Starting OpenElec with TV switched off

Starting OpenElec with TV switched off 1 year 4 months ago #1

Found this thread for the ION platform LINK. It explains how to tweak xorg.conf to enable starting up XBMC with a monitor completely switched off, and also how to have the correct resolution forced if the monitor was on standby.

These are some things i'd like to fix on my zbox AD02 as well, however it has an ATI APU. Anyone who can tell me if this can should be possible for this system as well? Or even better, post an example how he/she succeeded in doing this?

You can set the resolution of your screen in the system settings.

Yes you can, but if you boot the system with your TV off, then it defaults to some other value. In my case it's 1600x1200 which is beyond the screen area of my 1920x1080 plasma.

Ok, i read the post and it is also possible for any other platform.

you need to follow the step by step description in the thread...

I don't know why... but with my Samsung LCD & HDMI & Auto Resolution in XBMC all is fine...
also if TV is switched off.
