I'm using Generic build 8.0.4 on a Gigabyte GA-H81M-HD3 motherboard (ca.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H81M-HD3-rev-10#sp) with a Core i3 CPU. My Samsung TV supports 4K resolution, but when I use that resolution Kodi tries to upscale all content (if I'm not mistaken) and that's not as smooth as when I use the 1080P 60Hz resolution. So that is the resolution I selected.
When I resume from sleep, I can tell Kodi has set the resolution to 4K, although the settings state it's still 1080P. When I change it to 1080i and then back (or I do not accept the new setting), then it's 1080P again. Same thing seems to happen on a reboot, but not always.
So is there a way to fix the 1080P resolution? Or even better, a way to make 4K playback smooth on the Core i3?
