Just saw this issue on the Linux AudioEngine testers - Linux only thread on the XBMC forums...

Let me know how your build goes...

Thanks for the nightly build including the new AE code! I had to add the autostart.sh (sleep 10) into my .confg to get it working properly (HTPC (GT430) -> Onkyo 706 -> Samsung TV). But it works well, finally I have TrueHD and DTS MA again for the first time since switching from Windows (Media Browser and XMBC) to OpenElec a year and a bit ago!

Can't wait for this to be incorporated into the full OE builds and for nVidia to fix their drivers :)

Thanks again for those involved in creating this build and posting (vicbitter) :)

You'll need to do a fresh pull of the XBMC master (and rebuild) to correct an issue with AE...

VIC,
my build failed halted overnight; im not sure what to answer here ^___^

pastebin.com/m3Lai51e

now as for a fresh pull from xbmc; what is the process for this ?
i run ./mkpkg_xbmc, then PROJECT=Generic ARCH=i386 make release;

or do i have to go through all the above steps from your howto ?

The XBMC master is changing quite abit and patch 457 is no longer needed. Just delete it from your patches directory.

With respect to pulling the latest master.

Just follow the mkpkg_xbmc steps and modify the meta files.

Also, make sure tinyxml is in the package depends and build depends section. I updated the instructions on this if you aren't sure.

Just yell if you have any problems

ok:
here's a fresh **Generic** build of OpenELEC built against XBMC master (includes AE)

this build includes everything up to commit 58eb3f73341dbf8533072b9736fcbdc9a2845ced

as usual; backup up your current system; this is bleeding edge code folks !

**refer to the notes section of Vic's how-to post for some common problems & workarounds.

for the most part; ill be taking over for Vic ( with the exception that will *only* be releasing Generic builds; so please don't ask me for others ! ) .... also, *don't* expect daily releases as its pretty time consuming, but i scan the xbmc git daily, and when i see some enough changes come to AE, ill do a new build so you can test them.

new builds will always be available here:

Great work!

Does anyone else get around 100% CPU usage on one core with this build?
PLayback works good but something seems to be hogging one core.

Could be the library update, the progress bar doesn't disappear after a the initial startup search.

EDIT: Shutdown doesn't seem to work properly either. Back to OpenELEC-Generic.i386-devel-nvidia-290.10-r10763 for me.

I have updated the build instructions to use the new frodo package that has been added to OpenELEC.

It simplifies the build process as there are only a couple of tweaks needed to compile so that the AE code works correctly.

Be interested to here how you get on...

Great that you guys are on this !
I tryed a generenic build but it was to buggy for me .
Sound kept disapearing for me ..gt 520 nvidia ..
I tested OpenELEC-Generic.i386-nvidia-290.10-XBMC-master-r10888.tar
And OpenELEC-Generic.i386-devel-20120511103136-r10918
Went back to OpenELEC-Generic.i386-1.95.3 but great that you guys are on this !
keep up the good work .!

Hi all,

Forum lurker who just reqistered.. Thank you for these builds.

Any particular reason PVR isn't included?
Ok, I did ask for a PVR build just there.. forgive me. ;)

It's just that I don't want to go back to WIN7/MP/FTR cause I am really starting to like OpenELEC/USB-CEC/Motorola NYXboard Hybrid.

I can smell the perfect setup from here B)

OpenELEC-Generic.i386-nvidia-290.10-XBMC-master-r10888

Working great here! can't test DTS-MA or DTS-HD because no capable reciever :( but all the rest is working till now (with Sleep 10)

There are no generic X64 builds right ?

As the AudioEngine is part of XBMC frodo, PVR is not currently supported in frodo (see here for further details) hence no PVR builds.

whats a better platform right now to test out bitstreaming with AE? The Zotac ID41 with Atom/ion2 or ID80 with Atom 2.13/GT520M? I guess I would have to use the ion AE build for the ID41 and the generic AE build for the ID80? Thanks for any tip.

Keep up the great work. We appreciate it. :)

I have the Zotac ZBOX ID41 and it works a treat with the new AudioEngine.

update:

ive been compiling a new build the past few hours; but ran into a nasty samba compile bug:

--will have to wait for it to be sorted out until i post anything new with AE;
---on the other hand i posted a fresh build of Vanilla OpenELEC.

I started fresh (to try and reproduce) and pulled both OpenELEC and XBMC from git and I was able to build an ION x64 image. Maybe your OpenELEC build directory has become corrupted in some way. Have you tried a make clean?
