ill keep posting generic builds until sraue starts the nightly build server up again when OE 2.0 is released. (( at that point my update script will start to function again ... (((will need a little bit of time right at first to get a few changes sorted out))) ... see my signature for details.))


at that point, i would recommend everyone who appreciates using nightly builds, and OpenELEC itself for that matter, should donate $10+ to sraue, as i can only imagine how much effort it takes to do nightlies for close to 12 or so different architectures.



as for my new builds, ill get a new generic out tomorrow.

I did have another problem last night though, after waking from sleep the screen stayed blank, I had to manually turn it off and back on again, also I haven't managed to get the guide and home button on my remote to do anything useful yet. They don't come through as "home" and "guide" while running evtest?? I think its called. They come through as KEY_PROG1 and KEY_EPG, so I'm going to have to try and remap those.

just tried 11149 and cannot play BR isos, hangs on 'buffering'. I can play all other file types, bitstreaming works great, but not sure whats going on with BR isos. I am going to do a fresh install on a usb stick and see if it acts the same way, Id rather not wipe my drive clean and start over. The exact same files from the exact same share is being played by ID41 with no issues at all.

using r11168 now, and BR iso's still not an issue.

Yeah, something strange is happening for sure, the exact same problem im having with xbmcbuntu + compiled xbmc from git. Which by the way works really well, i just downloaded the build-deps, compiled the source from git and ran make install.

Anyway, it must be something to do with xbmc's current git master branch which i think is due to be updated at the end of every month? I think thats how it works, so i hope after then i can watch bluray iso's.

does yours hang on 'buffering please wait' also? I can play a 20+GB mkv and that 'buffering please wait' shows for like half a second and it starts playing. But even a 15/20gb blu ray iso will get stuck on 'buffering please wait' forever.

Yeah. I have the same problem, but after rebooting the htpc I'm now not getting any audio pass through. Analogue is all that is working.

Edit: I now have everything working as expected, so i tested copying an iso ti the local disk, it plays fine off the local disk. Judging from the debug logs, it has something to do with the udf path it tries to mount the image as. I am not using openelec at the moment, but if someone wants some debug logs i can post them tomorrow. Otherwise i might see if i can find a place to post my findings on the xbmc forum.

i added my network shares as NFS and can now play BR isos again with bitstreaming!!! Samba is broken

Yeah, I might setup an nfs share tonight. Or possible just mount the server on load so its only accessing it via local paths. I believe the problem is not samba, but the path/url that it uses to try and mount the udf file on a samba share.

I agree, something is up with the path as I see in my logs, I was just making a general statement that right now BR iso and samba are no good!!

Now that I replaced my Zotac ND-22 with the ID41, HD audio now bitstreams like a champ.

Though noticed 2 quirks that I will be looking into, just wanted to post to see if others have seen something similar before I go capturing logs and trying to recreate.

1. Crash on stop, in one night have had OE crash/lock up (black x on screen) 3 times when stopping a video (HD mkv and DVD ISO). Not consistent as in every time (50% after watching say a 45min show), I think there might be a play duration component. Have to look at it more and grab logs.

2. Seems to turn off or go to suspend/sleep. I checked and all powersaving is disabled by default. Could also be a power glitch I guess, but I have noticed it a few times (go to bed with it on, wake up off). I like to run my box 24/7. Will also have to disable all BIOS power saving (though never have run into bios overwriting OS before).


I will post more when I go though the logs and get a "clean" one.

On the ID41 I couldn't find a video memory setting in bios... I assume the new ION2 has dedicated memory?

With this patch applied (trac.xbmc.org/ticket/13075) at least plain stereo is working with Radeon based cards.

Hi there, good work on getting HD Audio passthrough onto OE.

Can you tell me whether the generic build available here will work on my Acer Revo? I normally opt for the ION specific builds.
