Doese HD bitstreaming work for you with this build? Because it doesn't work for me. My receiver shows "PCM" and all I hear is white noise.
I use an Intel i3-2120T + ASRock H67M-ITX/HT. With Windows 7 HD bitstreaming works without any problems.

What CPU + motherboard do you have?

Hi Phil,

well, I've got the same issues on passthrough of DTS-HD streams. My amp is showing "Multichannel" and I get a white noise. Actually I haven't a Dolby TrueHD stream here, but it might be the same problem. DTS and Dolby DD are working for me..

I have a Gigabyte H55M-USB3 and an Intel i3-2100.

Here is the latest ION x64 build

Just tried this build on my Revo R3600 and I am getting a white noise when trying to play a Blu Ray ISO of Ghost Recon which has HD Audio.

Unfortunately, as @ericab mentioned in this post, the Revo R3600 is an ION1 based machine and ION1 doesn't support HD Audio... :(

Looking at this wiki, the Revo R3600 uses the Realtek HD Audio chipset. You may need to configure ALSA, etc to get audio working. I would also check on the Linux AudioEngine testers - Linux only thread to see if anyone has got HD audio working on the Revo R3600...

If it's not possible, would I have more luck with my Emachines E1402?

Desperate to get HD Audio working for Sandy Bridge with Intel onboard GPU.
Openelec with HD Audio will be a great value addition to these Sandy bridge HTPCs.

The best place to go for support on this is the Linux AudioEngine testers - Linux only thread on the XBMC forums...

Looking at the eMachines website it is a similar spec to the Revo (ie. Realtek HD Audio) so probably not...

Just installed OpenELEC_frodo-Generic.i386-devel-20120603120526-r11211 onto my EMachines ER1402 and it hangs when trying to playback Blu Ray ISO.

I believe this is the important bit of the XBMC.log file.

I think you'll find later in the log it will try to mount it using a udf uri, with some special characters in there for spaces etc. I believe that's where the error is, what you are seeing here is a normal error condition. I dont know if it's possible to have some logic to check if the ISO is UDF/bluray before trying to open it with DVDPlayer, but if it was then this is where the check would be to say 'if dvd elseif udf'. Instead it just errors and tries the next.

If i knew anything about C or C++ i might look into it, but i only have limited PHP and Python experience.

Yes, this will update the DB to v64 however it will leave the original DB so you could run the new version on one test machine without having to update the others. For example, I am running Frodo on my main HTPC whilst running Eden on my ATV2s in the rest of the house.

Hi All,

Is it possible to get a 64bit generic build?

I'm running an AMD E350 Fusion with a geforce g210 graphics card. I've tried the i386 generic build, and it installs and runs HD audio really well. The only problem I have is a micro stutter every 1 min or so similar to when trying to playback 23.976fps at 24 Hz without the sync video to display setting on. I have this setting on, but still get the problem.

I've tried Openelec Beta 4 Fusion x64 build instead and do not see this problem, so I'm hoping that the extra bit of oomph that a 64bit build may bring will do the trick.

Cheers

Rob

Thanks for that, changed to NFS share and the ISO opened. I still have the white noise issue though, but this seems to be a hardware problem.

I have been told that the ION graphics does support 8-channel LPCM over HDMI. Isn't that what is needed here?

Not quite, see this comment on the XBMC website. I would also check the Linux AudioEngine testers - Linux only thread.

Basically, Dolby True HD can be de-coded to LPCM but not DTS-HD MA.
