I have several Raspberry(s) in my LAN running latest openelec and configured to use a central mysql instance on my NAS.
The config of the mysql database in "advancedsettings.xml" is using the IP and not some hostname to rule out DNS problems.
All the media is stored on the NAS which accessed via smb and again: plain IPs in the corresponding config file ("sources.xml").
Network wiring is pretty straight forward:
[cable modem] -- [mikrotik router/firewall] --- [switch] --- [raspy] (NAS/mysql on the same switch)
So far so good - everything works like a charm. Sweet!
BUT: When I unplug my internet connection (or just switch the modem off leaving the LAN intact) leads to an absolutely slow GUI behaviour of openelec. Its nearly impossible to navigate to the sources - it feels like the system is running into some timeout on each access to the media storage.
Nevertheless, i can access openelec while beeing offline without problems... and can ping from there to the NAS / mysql too.
Does that behaviour ring someones bell who would give me a hint?
