Gents,

I am trying to do something that i think should be fairly easy, but i can't get it to work.
I would like open http streams using pvr.
IE:

I have this m3u file
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,Nederland_1
http://192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0001
#EXTINF:0,Nederland_2
http://192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0002
#EXTINF:0,Nederland_3
http://192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0003
#EXTINF:0,RTL_4
http://192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0004
#EXTINF:0,RTL_5
http://192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0005
...
...

And i want to be able to open these streams in the live-tv section, since all the http streams are live streams. This would give me the benefit of all the pvr benefits (recording, timeshift, etc).

Dumping this m3u file somewhere on the openelec box, and then just opening the file works. I can open the individual streams, and watch tv. But then it doesn't have recording abilities nor does it have timeshifting etc etc.

How to combine PVR functionality with http streams?

Thanks in advance,

Joord

You need to use VDR addon which supports HTTP unicast streams.
ultraman == vpeter
LAMP addon - Linux, Apache, MySQL PHP bundle - new
Spotify build instructions - not working anymore
my Opera web browser addon (not for RPi) - not working anymore
Sundtek and HDHomeRun DVB driver addons
TBS, media_build, s2-liplianin unofficial images - not working anymore, use ...

Thanks (again) for answering.

Obviously i didn't find anything usefull, or searched in the wrong corners.
That's why i posted another question.

The same answer: "use vdr addon" didn't help me the last time also.
I would be greatfull if you would help me slightly further than this.

Which VDR addon?
And where to find examples?

Kind regards,

Joord

Well, I can't help you much more. I tested only once few months back. After that I lost hope with VDR because of it's great documentation. NOT!

If you using tvheadend the syntax is similar like this
http://192.168.0.53:9981/stream/channelid/34 (for exp. 34 is channel number) you can check channel numbers in tvheadend web configuration

If you using VDR with streamdev plugin you can go at http://192.168.0.53:3000/channels.html
You can watch all channels from same transponder(if you have 1 tuner)

Thank you for your response.

I feel i have to be slightly more clear.
I can not change the the streams.
They will are and will remain:
192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0001
192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0002
192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0003
192.168.0.53:8080/chlist/0004
etc
This is because it's coming from a blackbox. can't change it.

i just want to be able to PVR to it. (not just put all the streams in a m3u file, and watch streams as streams.)

how to proceed?

Thanks in advance,

Joord

Dodger,

Just to understand you correctly:

Before you used tvheadend in combination with a DVB-C/T card?
And now you use VDR in combination with a DVB-C/T card?

Or, do you have some DVB-IPTV box, and a seperate XBMC box, where xbmc connects to the IPTV streams by using unicast UDP OR multicast UDP OR HTTP streams?

Kind regards,

Hi,

Yes, i have a seperated box, providing me with http streams (see my 1st and 2nd message).
Obviously i want to be able to see those streams from my openelec box.
This is done easilly by just creating an m3u file, and dump it somewhere on the openelec box.
When i open the m3u file, openelec will then allow me to choose from the different streams.

Just, .. in this way, i can't record or timeshift.
Hence, i want to use a PVR solution. I want to use any PVR plugin, which can read HTTP streams.

Hello..
There is alot information how to use IPTV with Tvheadend or VDR
if you have stream like this:
#EXTINF:0,SomeChanell
udp://@238.1.18.2:1234
Tvheadend can read(i think) IPTV just from UDP port - from web configuration localhost:9981
Configuration -> IPTV and fill cell there with your chanell information (problem - just UDP streams)

VDR have iptv plugin
you need to start this plugin when vdr starts with "-P iptv" command
next you need to creat channels.conf with channels like this:
: IPTV
ChannelName;IPTV:10:S=0|P=0|F=UDP|U=238.1.18.2|A=1234:I:0:201:202:0:0:1:0:0:0
"ChannelsName" – Name of the channel
"IPTV" - this is plugin name(dont change)
"F=UDP" - this is portocol here you can use (UDP, HTTP, FILE, EXT)
"10" – this is uniq channel number
"238.1.18.2" – this is ip address from where you take stream
"1234" – this is the port
"201" – this is video PID
"202" – this is audio PID
"1" – transport stream ID
The last 3 parameter you can take with other software like this

some other solution:
If you have good rooter that support DD-WRT you can use Udpxy this is UDP-to-HTTP proxy
Udpxy can work on OpenELEC (If someone import it :) )
This is some basic info from internet i dont have IPTV streams ot IPTV plugin installed and i can't test it.. i dont have time too cos i have problems porting vdr-rotor plugin for OpenELEC
good luck

I'm trying to set IPTV on VDR with a SopCast stream from my other PC and I fail to find the PIDs using TSReader.

I have some free time and i install vdr-iptv plugin and have some tests with it
first you need to activate plugin in tvserver.conf - there is option IP_TV="yes"
next you must creat "link" to the streamed channel
in channel.conf you creat new tab with your iptv chanells

: IPTV
STREAM;IPTV:10:S=0|P=0|F=HTTP|U=192.168.2.2|A=5555:I:0:69=2:68=bul@4:0:0:28552:0:0:0

this is my test stream from local network with vlc
the sintax is like in my old post BUT xvdr or vdr have some atomatic detection for channels.conf and make corection. The line up is working!
this one I made:
STREAM;IPTV:10:S=0|P=0|F=HTTP|U=192.168.2.2|A=5555:I:0:69:68:0:0:28552:0:0:0
xvdr change it to:
STREAM;IPTV:10:S=0|P=0|F=HTTP|U=192.168.2.2|A=5555:I:0:69=2:68=@4:0:0:28552:0:0:0

but I add this tag for audio to work - 68=bul@4
thats it.. next after activation of iptv plugin and setup chanells restart OE
On live tv you must find your channels.
Good luck

P.S this not work with all iptv sources... not all kind of streams that i test work with plugin, plugin cant detect video resolution or audio bitrate some times

Hi Dodger,

Your reply helped me a lot.
- I installed the vdr-addon plugin in the services list.
- I enabled the vdr-xvdr-client plugin in the pvr clients list.
- I added a file "tvserver.conf" in the ConfigFiles folder "./.Config"
I added the IP_TV="yes" in that file.
- I changed the channels.conf and added some channels to it. (they appear in the Live-TV section)
- When i try to watch a channel, it would say: "VDR XVDR CLIENT All receivers busy"
- I added VDR_ARG="$VDR_ARG -P iptv -P streamdev-server" to the vdr.start

Still "all receivers busy"

I feel i am so close..

What did i forget?
