Hi all,

I have some trouble with this device (which is in the supported device list).

openelec.tv/find-help/supported-hardware...t/category/71-d-link

I have no cable connection available in the 1st floor where is my HTPC and I did order this device to avoid this inconvenience according to the previous link.
Sometime I have connection, sometime not, I first thought that it was a problem with the distance between the HTPC and my netbox, but I did try by moving my HTPC next to the netbox and there isn't improvement (wlan 0, WEP).
on the website of the manufacturer there are driver for linux, necessary on OE or useless?
Moreover everytime the connection is set the LCD display freeze (everytime, otherwise without connection display is fine)
Here are my last 2 points to have the perfect HTPC system.

The DWA-131 was supported when that page was originally created. The problem is that D-Link (and Cisco, and Netgear, etc.) keep changing the chipsets inside the cards so a v2 or v3 version of the card is completely different. That section of the website was supposed to be deleted some time ago when we moved to the wiki to track compatible hardware:

wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title=Support...reless_Network_Cards

That said, I have a hunch on what the problem you're seeing is. If you can SSH into the box and run "lsusb" and "lsmod" and paste the results back here, we can see what chipset is in the card and what driver module is being loaded.

Mobo: Gigabyte H67M-UD2H-B3
remote control: Philips RC197 provide with OrigenAE HTPC case S series.

I'm reading about general breakage of the r8172u driver in 3.2/3.3 kernels:

bugs.archlinux.org/task/27996

If you scroll to the bottom of the page there are links to linux kernel mailing list postings that show the fixes they figured out were included in the 3.2.14 kernel. The OE 1.95.1 beta uses 3.2.14 and should included these, so which OE image and build number are you trying to run?

From the udev version in the dmesg you posted I believe you're running the 1.0.2 dharma release. If yes, update to the 1.95.1 beta and it should (inshallah) fix the issue.
