Foxconn sponsors a nT- A3500

We are happy to announce that Foxconn, a leader in computer components and Nettops, has provided us with a Fusion based Nettop.

With this device, we will be able to test and improve our Fusion images for the future Nettop devices. At this moment, we are in the middle of its test phase and as published earlier there are still bridges to cross in order for XBMC itself to fully support this new processor architecture.

Fusion is AMD's answer to the next generation green and powerful processors.

It combines CPU and GPU power in one chip, and provides strong capability's to stream Full HD content, and still do other tasks in the background.

Our thanks for this device go out to Foxconn and to Avnet who made this sponsoring possible. For more information about this device, Please follow this link

Caution with nt-a3500. The cooling solution is inadequate. It idles at 60C / 140F. Even open case, in my freezing apartment (rads are broken shivers). Playback in XMBC knocks the temps up to 80C easily. I've had it overheat twice on me. Hope Foxconn fixes this issue with a new revision. I'm also not the only one experiencing overheating issues. Forums, and reviews are littered with the concern of the heat issue.

Otherwise this nettop is really excellent.

ps. No rear anologue stereo. Have to use the frontside headphone jack. Just a tiny complaint.

    Running Openelec 1.0.2.

The price seems right (under $200), and the specs are good, but until you guys say that it works as well or better than my NT330i (ION), I'm going to hold out on recommending it to people.

If you guys have any influence with them, can you ask about replacing that Sleep button in the front with a IR receiver window? I know expecting them to change their molds is never going to happen, so maybe the "replacing" idea might work, for the A3700, you know.
I would love to not have to attach an ugly external IR receiver to use it.

Good move for Foxconn and Avnet!!

The sooner we get full support on Fusion and thus stable versions the better.

Using the NT-A3500 I must say that it delivers on the promises; fast, smooth playback of video, and nearly quit.

    Keep up the good work
