The OpenELEC team is proud to release the 4th beta of OpenELEC 2.0!
Internally this is known by the less-catchy name OpenELEC 1.95.4 :)
After the release of OpenELEC Beta 3 we received many new bug reports. One of the most reported issues is specific to XBMC-Eden where XBMC restarts when browsing folders, accessing a library with videos of a specific type or trying to watch these videos directly.
As this is a known bug in XBMC-Eden, to fix this we have replaced XBMC's internal ffmpeg with the version which is part of XBMC (frodo) master branch. Together with this we updated our XVBA patches with the latest work from Fernetmenta's stable XBMC-Eden solution, which contains a rework of the VDPAU support to. As these are significant changes we have decided to release Beta 4. Additionaly and as a "bonus" it adds 10bit video support :-).
Starting with Beta 4 we also check for corrupt update files before upgrading commences. On very rare occasions the download of our updates were incomplete and caused the system to fail after reboot. As our user base grows, rarer problems such as this one will emerge and be dealt with in a similar manner. This change will reduce the number of upgrades problems.
To manually update the procedure is the same as before however you must also copy KERNEL.md5 and SYSTEM.md5 to the update folder/share together with KERNEL and SYSTEM.
There are 270 changes by 9 authors and 85 closed issues since Beta 3 (1.95.3). The most important changes are:

In the first part of our tutorial we built OpenELEC for Raspberry Pi from sources. Now it’s time to create a bootable SD card and get OpenELEC and XBMC running!

The first Rasperry Pi's boards have been shipped to their new owners and in response to high demand for an OpenELEC/XBMC image we have merged our RPi development work into our public github repository. The OpenELEC RPi project code that you can download has already been run by the XBMC team on pre-production Raspberry Pi boards so we know it can be used to build a working system; although we also know there are some issues that need solving and the complete package needs optimising.

The OpenELEC team is proud to release the second beta of OpenELEC 2.0!
Internally this is known by the less-catchy name OpenELEC 1.95.2 :)
There are 137 changes by 11 authors and 75 closed issues since Beta 1 (1.95.1). The most important changes are:
HONG KONG – Apr. 11, 2012 – ZOTAC International, a global innovator of graphics cards, mainboards and mini-PCs, today redefines the mini-PC form factor with the extra small ZBOX nano XS AD11 Plus mini-PC. The OpenELEC team has prepared a little Easter gift for you, the first beta of OpenELEC 2.0!
Internally this is known by the less-catchy name OpenELEC 1.95.1 :)
The list of changes since the 1.0 release is HUGE and most of the packages that make the OS have been updated to latest versions to ensure optimum performance and compatibility with the latest HTPC hardware and Linux software. The most important and visible change is the update to XBMC 11.0, a.k.a “Eden” which brings many refinements to XBMC.
Hi all,

We are happy to announce our first ARM port and support for RaspBerry Pi. Many thanks to the XBMC Team member Edgar (gimli) Hucek and the whole XBMC dev team for supporting us with this!
This is our first ARM build and is early days but it spells yet another suite of current and future hardware that OpenELEC will support. In the future you can expect to see more and more capable ARM based hardware at low cost coming onto the market and OpenELEC will be with you all the way to integrate these devices into your home.
From today the Njoy Live TV application is available in the official XBMC add-on repository from version Eden Beta 3 and up. The add-on makes it possible to watch directly live digital SD and HD payTV from your TV subscription into XBMC.
